On June 17, 2022—fifty years and one day after the original UK release—THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS was issued as a limited-edition 50th-anniversary half-speed-mastered LP and as a picture disc using the same master. Includes a replica promotional poster for the album.
This pressing was cut on a customized Neumann VMS80 lathe with fully recapped electronics, from 192 kHz restored masters of the original Trident Studios tapes, with no additional processing on transfer. The half-speed cut was made by John Webber at AIR Studios.
The album is the breakthrough that catapulted David Bowie into the international spotlight. For 50 years it has remained a touchstone, influencing artists from Arcade Fire to Lady Gaga, from Harry Styles’ androgynous fashion to Noel Fielding’s shirts on The Great British Bake Off, and inspiring Ziggy make-up challenges on TikTok.
Bowie laid the Ziggy Stardust persona to rest in July 1973 at his final show with the Spiders from Mars at London’s Hammersmith Odeon, but its impact reverberates to this day.

Mine arrived damaged (the sleeve), they swiftly replaced it for me with no hassle, AMAZING Customer Service!!!! Now for the album...Outstanding sound!!! Really an amazing sounding album. The classic Bowie for sure!!! I would Not miss having this in my collection if I were you!!! So great!!!!!! Crank it up!!!!

This arrived damaged :( But was immediately replaced upon notifying David Bowie store :) Sound is absolutely fantastic. Grab it while you can!

Sounds absolutely great! Up until I received this I was spinning the 2015 remaster and that one sounded good, but this half-speed master is on a whole 'nother level.

This pressing is absolutely ear opening! Stunning clarity and dynamics with virtually no surface noise - best I have ever heard this album! Mobile Fidelity and Analogue Productions should take note as to how this can be issued with this quality at this price point. Makes me wonder, though, why the vinyl was not presented in anti static quality inner sleeves. Had to be one of the dirtiest records that I've ever seen upon first opening, given the dust and debris from the paper sleeves. Like others have mentioned, I hope there are more Bowie reissues done in this process and quality, especially “ Low”.

This is perhaps the finest vinyl I own, and by definition the best Ziggy pressing in my collection. I was blown away on first listen. This is a must-own for Bowie fans.
